Overview
ExpenseDesk ("we", "our", or "the app") is a private expense and receipt tracking app for iPhone. This policy explains what data the app processes and your choices.
Data stored on your device
- Receipt photos and scanned images
- Expense records (amount, date, merchant, category, tags, notes)
- Budgets, categories, and app settings
- Subscription status
Permissions (only if you grant them)
- Camera — to scan receipts
- Photo Library — to import receipt images and save exports
- Face ID / Touch ID — optional app lock (biometric data stays on device via iOS)
iCloud Drive (Pro, optional)
If you enable cloud backup and are signed into iCloud, encrypted backup copies may be stored in your iCloud Drive. We do not operate our own receipt servers for routine storage.
AI features
- Demo AI categorization may run on-device without sending receipts to our servers.
- Live receipt OCR may use your own API key if you choose to add one in Settings — requests go directly to the provider under their terms.
- We do not sell receipt content or use it for advertising.
Subscriptions
When available, payments will be processed by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details. Subscription status is verified through Apple's StoreKit.
Analytics & tracking
ExpenseDesk does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs to track you across apps or websites.
Data retention & deletion
Delete expenses individually in the app or remove all local data by uninstalling. iCloud copies follow your iCloud account settings. For support-related emails you send us, contact us to request deletion.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
